urban oasis

At the very end of my Davina McCall work out video (ok, very embarrassing), there is an interview with Meg Matthews and her personal nutritionist. I wasn't so interested in what they were saying (Meg used to start the day with 6 espressos which is BAD), but more in the location of the interview, her own garden terrace in north London.

You might not know that other than being once wed to Noel Gallagher of Oasis, Meg is also well known for being a very accomplished designer (her wallpaper range sells exclusively at Liberty London) and there's no doubt she had a hand in the design of the outdoor terrace that compliments the pop art interior style of her home.

On further inspection I realised that despite the furniture (am assuming the ghost chairs aren't fake), the rest of it is pretty inexpensive and depending on how handy you are, a trip to Bunnings and a few DIY jobs could achieve a very similar look...

Reed screen - $296 for 7.3m @ House of Bamboo
White cube lightweight pots - $45 each @ GardenLife
Cycad Revoluta - $85.00 each @ www.plantworld.com.au
Ornate mirror - $69 @ Ikea
Orange paint - Tingle @ Dulux
Grey Decking & built in seating - approx $8-$11/lineal metreModwood
Extra Large Eero Aarnio puppy dog chair in orange - $519 @ Urban Baby

It might be the puppy chair that pushes your budget over the edge!
